If you wish to speak of the vast blue oceans, of extraordinary ocean travelers that since the dawn of time have followed invisible pathways below the rippled surface; if you wish to speak of a place deep within ourselves where echoes of an ancient link with the natural world are to be found, of a shared destiny with animals seldom seen but revered like few others, then speak of the whales.
For here we shall find an ocean spirit that resonates with our very being, and the sighting of a far-off blow or powerful breach quickens the heart and reminds us of our fragile shared place on this blue diamond in its vast sea of stars.
But if we are to speak of the whales then we must also speak of the brutality and complete disregard for the reverence of life that we have inflicted upon them, on wild spirits free and million-year old memories, and may this disturb us enough into realising that it is our place on this earth to offer sanctuary and protection to these magnificent mammals.
Welcome to Sacred Ocean.
